Jǐ represents the image of something being established or disciplined. The Ten Thousand Things are restrained and humbled and, in this manner, they rise and become established. All which is endowed with a form or shape can be forged and disciplined.
Field earth or rich earth is sufficient to absorb adequate moisture, and is a depository for various kinds of nutrients, it is the place for cultivating various plants.
Besides rich field, Yin earth has soft, flexible comfortable nature. Therefore they know very well on when to retreat or advance at different circumstances or situations, has very high adaptability and hence will be entrusted frequently to handle difficult problems.
Like the soil which transforms water and minerals into nurturing plant food for all the plants in the world, especially their children, employees. Yin Fire - 丁 火

dingfire 丁:草木成長壯實,好比人的成丁。

Dīng : represents the image of the grassland or vegetation growing, strengthening and fully maturing.  It can be likened to the development and maturation process of human beings.
Yin Fire people are born leaders. They take pride in showing people the way. They are generally gentle, philosophical and loving. Meticulous and learned, with hidden depths of surprising power. Illuminate the path for themselves and for others. They tend to be focused rather like a laser beam of light, penetrating and targeted.
Yin Fire people are mild, conservative, courteous and passionate. The personality of this kind of people is not strong. Fire which is neither hot nor fiery, they often do not let others know of their directions or movements, and this would not stir up people’s attention. Yin Fire people are meticulous, detail-oriented and sentimental, they are great motivators.
However just like the situation where a fire requiring various conditions to reach the burning-point, this does not imply that Yin Fire people are negative or lack self-confidence. They will hide their thinking or feelings in their heart, waiting diligently and attentively for the right opportunity to come knocking. Most of the time, others will not know what they are thinking.
Usually, their contemplation is profound, behavior is careful and cautious. There are very few cases where actions are carried out due to impulse. Their thinking is like a careful vanguard, plan every matter to completion. This is like the nature of a small fire, from ignition and burn anything till ashes.
Their endurance and tolerance levels are very high, which is totally opposite of Bing people. So, in order to get along with Yin Fire people, one must be patient and sensitive, and cannot be too frank.
Hence Yin Fire people will tend to be very close to those whom they know very well. They dedicate their hearts, even to the extent of sacrificing themselves. Like a fire burning slowly, sacrificing oneself to bring warmth to those near them.
As they are always thoughtful of the feelings of those people who are dear to them, they will not tend to tell the truth, they also find hard to reject them even though they are aware that they themselves may lose out in certain circumstances.
Shortcomings are that before reaching the ‘burning-point’, they would not display their innate qualities or feelings. This may cause others to mistakenly think that they are indecisive and sitting on the fence. As Yin Fire people like to consider every matter in details over and over again, they can develop a suspicious frame of mind very easily and hence they must not over-estimate themselves.
Sometimes, they are fickle minded but they have a tremendous ability to rise to great occasions.  The downside is sometimes they are easily de-motivated.

Yang Fire - 丙 火

bingfire 丙:炳也,如赫赫太陽,炎炎火光,萬物皆炳燃著,見而光明。
Bīng : represents the image of that which is bright and flaring. It is like the startling Sun, so ablaze and so scorching. The Ten Thousand Things are all lightened up and illumined by it. When it appears, all become clear and visible.
Yang Fire suggest a person who radiates warmth and brightness. They are generally cheerful and magnanimous to one and all, neither differentiating according to class or status nor being influenced by race or other differences. They tend to be a bit proud and like to attract attention. They are sociable and fun loving people.
They are also very energetic, shows enthusiasm and interest in all things, and will be actively hands-on in action. Sometimes due to much over-excitement which in turn becomes rash and reckless, can create a stir in situations and cause oneself to be busy and create wasted efforts.
They are not interested or will get involved in human trifles or small matters and have very clear opinions and will not take unnecessary pains to resolve problems or get themselves in a deadlock situation. They are straightforward and will not hide any truth.
Bing Fire People are very fast in terms of actions, speech and understanding ability. Sometimes, being impatient, can lead to misunderstandings. They will also tend to differentiate things very clearly in matters.
Bing Fire people can be impatient, self-opinionated, have a tendency on wastage; tend to have mood swings and temper comes every now and then. Hence, although they may be impulsive at times and blow things out of proportion, you can expect them to have relatively short temper.
Sometimes, they can be conceited, and sometimes they have a merciful heart. So, friends tend to come and go, one after another.

Yin wood - 乙木

 乙:草木初生,枝葉柔軟屈曲。
Yi : represents the image of the new grown grassland, or meadow or vegetation; and it is able to grow branches and leaves that are soft, pliable and sinuous.
Yin Wood people are quite the opposite of Jia Wood people. Yin Wood is wood of a lesser robust quality. It is smaller, less vigorous and less imposing. It’s growth is even slower and its character is milder, gentler and a great deal more tactful reflecting its female aspect.
Its upward growth is meandering and curving, finding ways round obstacles and yielding to them rather than fighting directly. They will tend to avoid trouble by ducking out of the way or slinking away until the trouble dies down. Like twines that eventually reach the sunlight at the top of the forest canopy.
Yin Wood people may appear fragile but by going with the flow of the wind they are in reality rather hardy. Think of the blade of grass and the mighty oak tree in the face of a storm. The grass blade is unaffected while the oak tree can get uprooted.
Yin Wood people always find their way in life. They have a survivalist nature and are generally not ruthless and their ability to adapt to changes quickly is always a strong point in their favor. One of their defining characteristics is their flexibility and adaptability.
Yin Wood people tend to have a timid personality and very dependent on others. Though they may be creative, things or events may not happen as they wished. Hence these problems may cause them to be distressed and lose self-confidence.
Besides, they are likely to go against their own feelings and thoughts to follows others, swayed by temptations and may be deceived or mislead by others easily.
However, Yin Wood people also tend to be like grass in the wind - they are fickle and rarely commit one way or another. They change their minds quickly and can be difficult to keep up with because they refuse to stick to one course of action.
